Like many Internet professionals I often have several copies of the same file. Before long I will have several copies of the same CSS, JavaScript, PHP, or article revisions all named the same with only the date to differentiate between them. When I refer back to the original files I spend way too much time going back and forth looking for the differences.
diffChecker is a free online tool that you can either upload your text to or cut and paste your text to check.
WinMerge is a free and simple tool you can download if you prefer to not use a online tool. WinMerge will compare both files and folders for differences.
ExamDiff is another freeware tool you can download and use to compare files, folders and other formats using various plug-in’s making it very configurable.

Thanks for these 3 tools. I’m gonna check them out and see how I like them. I’ll post back with what I find.
Allen, I’m curious to hear what you think. Definitely let us know.
