WordPress makes it simple to make code changes via the administrator “Editor” interface. Or you can directly edit the PHP code yourself. WordPress is fully customizable. A CSS tweak here and there, a PHP code hook or two and your site can be up and running in no time.
WordPress has ton’s of plugin’s to do just about anything you want. You can check them out here: WordPress Plugins. Yes they are WYSIWYG, but if you stick to the top rated and most popular you won’t run into too many incompatibility issues.
And best of all… it is super easy for us to teach even the least technical client how to blog. We are constantly having the same conversation with clients about how easy it is. They are often resistant because they don’t believe how easy it is use. However, once we get them up and blogging… they can’t believe that it is as user friendly as it is.
I just came across the following info graphic from the people over at TestKing.com. It’s really interesting to see all of the stats about WordPress and it’s evolution over the years.

I agree with you – hands down! I’ve changed my CMS so many times trying to find a feature I liked, but WordPress is so much easier. I’m really new to blogging, so I really don’t know how to use the editor portion much. I just know that if I want something, I can always add a plug in.
Hi Elmer,
I always recommend WordPress to non-techie’s because it is very user friendly. Drupal is a great program but has a pretty steep learning curve for some. Ditto for Joomla.
As for plugin’s – Always backup your WordPress files and SQL files before installing anything! Some plugin’s do break a website. Also, only install plugin’s that you absolutely need. Too many plugin’s slow down WordPress.
